“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities –
all things were created through Him
and for Him.”
           Colossians 1:15-16
Thank you for taking time to visit our website.  Let me briefly share the vision of Wassamassaw Baptist.  Our focus as a church is not on a religious institution, but on people – loving people with God’s love by reaching our surrounding community for Jesus and helping them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.  Many of your questions will be answered as you surf our website.  I want you to know that we are here to  serve you. If we can answer any of your questions, please contact us.  Most importantly, we would be honored for you to visit with us on Sunday. I believe you will experience first hand what so many say about Wassamassaw Baptist: that we are a genuinely friendly and welcoming church.  The times of our services are listed to the left and elsewhere on our website.  When you come, I look forward to meeting you face to face.  God bless!
Dr. S. Norman Rogers, Pastor
Wassamassaw = Wah-Sah-Mah-Saw
is spelled the same backwards and forwards.
The name “Wassamassaw” is an old American Indian name meaning “Connecting Waters”.
Our mission as a church is to connect people to the
Living Water, Jesus Christ (John 4:10)
Maybe a member has invited you to come. Or perhaps you have been served by one of our ministries. Whatever introduction has brought you our way, we welcome you to visit us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I need to dress up to attend? A. Dress comfortably–our members and guests attend in anything from shorts and shirts to suits and ties. Whatever you feel comfortable wearing, you won’t feel out of place.

Q. Are there Sunday activities for my preschooler or children? A. Excellent Bible activities are provided for preschoolers and children, birth through grade 5, during morning worship. Student programming for grades 6-12 are also available.

Q. Do I need to bring a Bible to worship? A. A Bible is helpful for you to use during the message portion of the service for reference, but it is not totally necessary as scripture references are projected onto the screens.  Pastor Rogers normally preaches from the English Standard Version (ESV).

Q. What is Wassamassaw’s “style” of music? A. In terms of music, we don’t have a “style” that we stick with.  We do a mixture of Traditional Hymns, choruses, and praise songs. Our desire is that our musical worship be uplifting and create a sense of anticipation for the teaching time in the service.

Q. What does your church believe about the Bible’s teachings? A. A listing of our core beliefs can be found here.
Q. Do you record the Sermons for listening? A. Yes, we do have audio recordings of the Sunday Sermons on our website here.  The pastor generally preaches expository sermons through the books of the Bible.

Q. How do I find out about what is happening at Wassamassaw Baptist Church? A. Check out our Ministries, Media, & News sections from the menu above.  Or visit us on Facebook.
