From Your Pastor’s Heart 5/2018

Our GROW campaign is now well under way. We have gathered in cottage prayer meetings lifting up our church, its leadership, and its ministry to God in prayer. Without God’s grace and power resting upon us, we cannot possibly fulfill our vision of “reaching our community for Jesus and discipling them, one person at a time.”

For the last few weeks, I have been preaching in the book of Nehemiah, whom God  called to build the walls of Jerusalem. The task wasn’t easy; there were many bumps along the way; but he never took his eyes off the vision of doing what God had called him to do.

May we, like Nehemiah, never take our eyes off the vision. We are building a worship center to advance that vision in order to better reach our growing community. God will do His part! Let us do our part!

Throughout the month of May, you may give your Faith Promise Commitments. All commitments must be in by Sunday, May 20. Ask God what He would have you to give. “God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

On Saturday, May 19, we will celebrate God’s goodness and provision. The Celebration Banquet will be held at Wassamassaw Baptist at 5:30. Please make every effort to be present. There will be a nursery and a celebration party for the young children (3-7 years). Dr. Gary Hollingsworth, Executive Director-Treasurer of the SC Baptist Convention, will be our guest speaker. There will be special music provided by Pastors Kent and Keith Wilson and The HeartNotes!

May God bless us as we celebrate this new chapter in our long church history.
